Jamie C. Dennis He president & chief executive officer of Lead Work Productions is Jamie C. Dennis. Dennis is better known as the artist 'KP' (short for Killa' Poet) and also known as the producer 'King James.' He started in the music business as 'KED' (short for Knock 'Em Dead) for the Northside Coalition. Self-established, reputable and respected, King James has served as an opening act for Nelly, performed for the 30-city Anheuser-Busch 'Whatsup Tour,* and completed production and lyrical work with artists such as Lil' Jon and The Eastside Boys, Twista and Crucial Conflict. The founder and driving force behind the radio juggernaut band 'Out of Order' and a successful solo commercial artist in his own right, King James wrote lyrics and produced/co-produced tracks for 'The Era of Triplossis' album. The CD achieved national sales and acclaim in the Billboard, Murder Dog, Vibe, Rap Sheet, Rolling Stone, Spin magazines, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Riverfront Times, Limelight and St. Louis American newspapers. The band also was featured in advertisements, commercials and/or interviews on The Source magazine, BET, MTV, local cable access and network TV. From 1998-2001, King James helped expand the professional image for a local record label through a variety of promotions and performances, and assisted with in-house production, arrangement and song-writing. In September 2004, King James wrote 'Baseball in the USA' for the Missouri History Museum and performed the piece on the Higher Education Channel's 'A Place in Time series. That same month, under the moniker KP, he released a new single, 'Angus/Ya'll Gon Cry,' which was highlighted in the St. Louis Argus. He also is a partner in the Fusion Music Group with David Steward, Jr. The talented young producer, songwriter and vocalist has amassed an exciting repertoire of original R&B and hip-hop pieces and thematic 'Edutainment* and promotional raps. King James* forte is doing the research, writing and production to make these pieces come to life in a unique CD gift, as well getting the crowd on their feet at live shows, private birthday, anniversary and corporate parties. Recent highlights include writing, producing and performing a biographical rap on Olympic Gold Medalist Jackie Joyner-Kersee for the Grand Opening of a gym in her honor; a wedding tribute to actor/comedian Cedric "The Entertainer'; That's A Winner: Go Crazy Folks,' a tribute to Hall of Fame broadcaster Jack Buck; "Work It From The Top,' a tribute to Mathews-Dickey Boys' & Girls' Club Co-Founder Martin L. Mathews and a trio of Lewis & Clark Bi-Centennial Celebration raps for the Missouri Historical Society. An excellent contemporary pop and R&B vocalist, King James regularly performs the latest and favorite hits for packed venues of adoring fans. With a special love for today's youth, King James encourages them to learn about history by setting it to a hip-hop beat and has developed a series of music industry seminars through Lead Work Productions, a subsidiary of The House The King Built studios. Jamie 'King James' Dennis' song 'Baseball in the USA' has been named a Silver Telly Award winner for Music Video. The music video produced by HEC-TV and the Missouri Historical Society featured 'King James' performing his original song at Busch Stadium, home of the St. Louis Cardinals. The music video then appeared on a half-hour program titled Baseball In America on HEC-TV. A firm believer in giving back to his community, King James is an outstanding alumnus and avid volunteer at the Mathews-Dickey Boys' & Girls' Club - a St. Louis area non-profit organization that provides educational, sports and cultural programs for more than 40,000 young men and women annually. His volunteer repertoire includes promotional speaking engagements and performances for civic, community and educational institutions. For his achievements, he's received the United States Congressional Awards Bronze Medal and Mathews-Dickey Cerman F. Mathews Awards.
